Hurricane Laura Relief Efforts

LMTA Members Start Relief Campaigns

Relief efforts from Hurricane Laura in southwestern Louisiana are underway, and LMTA members are stepping up to help those affected by the storm. We wanted to share with you two member-lead relief campaigns that are taking place this week. If you would like to donate or volunteer, please refer to the contact information below.

Bengal Transport & United Way Relief Cookout

LMTA member Bengal Transportation will be hosting a cookout with United Way in Lake Charles, LA. They plan to feed close to 2,000 volunteers and first responders who have been assisting in relief efforts. They welcome residents and volunteers helping in the area to the Living Way Pentecostal Church at 1617 E. McNeese Street, Wednesday September 2, 2020.

Frisard Companies Accepting Donations for Cajun Navy

LMTA member Frisard Companies has been taking in donations for the Cajun Navy. The supplies collected will be brought to the Cajun Navy warehouse in Baton Rouge by one of the company's trucks. The Cajun Navy will be distributing the items as needed to the victims of Hurricane Laura in southwest Louisiana.

At this time the items below are needed for those affected by the storm and assisting with recovery efforts:

-Cases of water, sealed drinks (Gatorade & Powerade)
-Tarps
-Sleeping Bags
-Non Perishables and snacks
